SUV hits man, drags him 8.5 miles
Associated Press, Mar. 1, 2004

Josuel Galdino, SPRINGFIELD, VA - A sport utility vehicle hit a man Sunday and dragged his body, apparently lodged in the suspension, 8½ miles to the driver's home, police said.

Josuel Galdino, 25, of Lorton, was charged with manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and felony hit-and-run after calling police to report a man's body in the front end suspension of his SUV.

Fairfax County police said Galdino hit Fitsum Gegreegziabher, 27, or Woodbridge, who had gotten out of his car after getting a flat tire. Galdino was held without bond.

Damn, you gotta be a special kind of stupid, or insanely drunk as this jerkoff was, to not notice that you a) hit something as large as a person, and b) drug them down the road for 8½ miles. One would assume that he stopped at least a couple times for stoplights or signs. And he never noticed? Idiot.

Donny Williams, CALIFORNIA - American Idol producers booted Donnie Williams from the competition this week after the aspiring singer was arrested for DUI, TV Guide Online reports. Williams will be replaced by New Orleans crooner George Huff, 23. Producers, meanwhile, welcomed Williams to "try out for the show again next season."

What a fuckin' loser! A possible once in a lifetime shot at becoming a rich, self-absorbed, egomaniac and he can't control his drinking? Loser ...

Another Ten Commandments monument may have to go
Associated Press, Feb. 28, 2004

City Leaders, DULUTH, MN - A Ten Commandments monument has stood outside City Hall in Duluth for decades, but city leaders now have weeks to decide whether to move the monument of fight a lawsuit by the Minnesota Civil Liberties Union. The organization filed a lawsuit in federal court Friday to remove the 7-foot-tall monument because of what it call an unconstitutional confluence of church and state.

It just amazes me how people continue to misconstrue the Constitution. And it's funny how Congressman can continue to pray before their meetings in gubment buildings. Guess that's acceptable. Don't get me wrong, 'cause I'm not religious at all, I'm not for it but the people that spend all their time fighting things like this are complete losers. Civil Liberty Unions are like Labor Unions: They look great on paper but when it comes to their actual application they completely turn to shit. A bunch of crybaby bitches looking to get preferential treatment for some bullshit reason that only they can fathom.

Senate approves a bill to protect firearms firms
Associated Press, Feb. 27, 2004

The Senate, WASHINGTON, DC - The Senate voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to take up a White House-backed bill that would provide legal immunity to gun manufacturers and dealers.

By a vote of 75-22, lawmakers agreed to begin debating the measure, which would offer protection to firearms manufacturers and dealers as long as the did not sell defective weapons or violate any law. The main question now is whether the Senate will tack two gun-control measures onto the bill.

Those measures, one to extend the so-called assault-weapons ban and another to require instant background checks for gun show customers, also have bipartisan support and are backed by President Bush. However, the White House announced late Tuesday that it opposed attaching them as amendments.

It's about time someone gained some common sense! People are so dense sometimes. Reminds me of this cartoon I saw recently that depicts a Republican Elephant protecting a big, fat, white trash-looking guy named "Gun Manufacturers" from a little crippled dude in a wheelchair labeled "Gun Victim." I find this amusing because there is no such thing as a "gun victim." No firearm, willingly and of its own volition, ever harmed anyone. I will guarantee with my life that no legitimate gun manufacturer or dealer has ever purposely designed or sold a firearm with the intent of harming a human that didn't deserve it. But, instead of trying to control criminals, a feat that the gubment is ill prepared to do and fails miserably at, they find an easy target in gun manufacturers because people are typically so stupid. Hopefully this bill will pass.

Bill includes OK for publishing DUI names
Associated Press, Feb. 25, 2004

Unnamed Legislators - Hoping it would serve as a deterrent, legislators want to let the state pay newspapers to publish the names of people who drive and boat while under the influence.

The provision on advertising is included in a larger bill that also reconfigures a state council on drunken driving. The House approved the bill unanimously Wednesday, sending it to the Senate.

Under the bill, the Driving Under the Influence Abatement Council could use up to 10 percent of the DUI Abatement Fund for adiminstrative purposes that include reimbursing newspapers for publishing the names, ages and concentrations of people convicted of driving and boating under the influence.

Another good common sense piece of legislation. I'd say child abusers and rapists should be added to the list as well but they simply deserve to die.

Puddle of Mudd singer allegedy drunk at show
Associated Press, Feb. 24, 2004

Wes Scantlin, TOLEDO, OH - Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin is free on bail after an allegedly drunken show in Toledo on Sunday night.

The band was 15 minutes into its set when Scantlin threw a bottle into the crowd and spit on fans, according to authorities. Undercover state liquor agents decided to arrest him.

Earl Mack of the Ohio Department of Public Safety says they thought they'd have a riot on their hands based on Scantlin's conduct. Authorities say Scantlin was drunk and he was spitting inside the police car.

He's been charged with disorderly conduct, intoxication, misconduct involving a public transportation system and criminal mischief. He was released Monday after posting $150 bond. The band's management has refused comment.

Please tell me no one is surpised that a musician got busted for being fucked up ... ?

Officials red-faced over filming of porn at airport
Associated Press, Feb. 24, 2004

Airport Security Officials, HONG KONG, China - Red-faced airport security officials in Hong Kong are trying to explain a security breach. No, it wasn't a hijacking attempt - but a porn movie.

The hour-long film "Exposure Trip in Hong Kong" features shots in and around the airport. The daily tabloid the Sun reports there's 20 minutes of hardcore action in the video.

There's one scene where a porn star bares all in the departure lounge.

Airport Authority spokeswoman Sylvia Chan says if they had known about the filming, authorities would have stopped it.

She says the adult video-makers haven't been identified. But she adds if they are, the airports' lawyers may get involved.

I don't know what to say about this but I'll have to see about hanging out at some Hong Kong airports on my next vacation.
